Darknight
I don't normally buy instrumental albums but this is an exception. As soon as I read about Zahn having members of HEADS I was completely sold and I listened to the best instrumental album I've heard in ages, easily my fave album of that genre and it ROCKS!!!
Favorite track: Schranck.
Zahn are a new instrumental (noise) rock group consisting of Nic Stockmann (Heads., ex-Eisenvater) Chris Breuer (Heads., ex-The Ocean) and Felix Gebhard (live-Einstürzende Neubauten).
A relentless exercise in rhythm and texture. Whether you love the hard riffs of Metz or The Jesus Lizard the big melodies of Torche or the swaggering sounds of The Desert Sessions Zahn packs a punch for you. Zahn is noise rock merging with sludge and post-punk in a spectacular threesome with avant-garde sensibilities presenting riffs and grooves in abstract patterns and rhythmic cycles all of which are backed by some seriously hard-hitting drums.
Musikexpress (DE)
The Quietus (UK)
"The first couple of tracks will remind you that The Jesus Lizard would've still been really great even if they didn't have David Yow hurling himself around at the front, yelling about autoerotic asphyxiation accidents, and pulling his pants down."
TAZ (DE)
Post-Punk (US)
"Hard hitting and free-flowing alike, Zahn is a great experimental undertaking avant la lettre, served with a German avant-garde sensibility.
The Obelisk (US)
"Its noise-rock angularity and tonal bite isn’t going to be for everyone, but there’s something about ZAHN‘s unwillingness to cooperate, their unwillingness to sit still, that makes their self-titled debut a joy of a run. You can take the ride if you want, but they’re going either way.“
Visions (DE):

Rarely an album title evokes that perfectly what’s inside … on a solidly bass base, mid-tempo post-punk songs progressing like nothing could stop them. Somehow, Berlin atmosphere transpires. JJPOP13
A compilation of rollicking cuts from this Australian post-punk band that plays like a hybrid of the Velvets and the Stooges. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 3, 2017
Je ne possède aucun disque metal instrumental. Sauf celui-ci.
